On Sunday 27th September, I hosted the second Fame Golf Academy Cup Competition at Tapton Park Golf Course, Chesterfield, for ladies who have participated in either group or individual coaching at the academy.
It provides the opportunity to bring everyone together, enjoying the social element that golf brings whilst playing competitively for fun.
The format was 9 hole medal play on The Markham Course.
The winner was Angela Rowson from Sheffield, with a fantastic gross score of 47.
Angela is a new starter to the game and has come such a long way in a short number of months.
“I must say I felt very proud when I won the Fame Academy Trophy on Sunday. I have some friends who play golf but I had never thought it was a game for me. However, earlier this year I decided I wanted a new challenge and took up golf in April . I am glad I did.
Fame has given me excellent coaching and encouragement, and I have also been inspired by the glorious setting of Tapton Golf club.
Getting a good handicap is my next goal and then to win some tournaments.
Bring on 2016.”
Angela’s dedication and eagerness to learn has proved how much your golf game can develop.
I am extremely proud of everyone who took part, particularly those who had only ever learned their golf and played on The Academy Course. Well done everyone….it was a pleasure to walk to round and watch you all enjoying your golf in the sunshine.
Thank you to Stratstone, Chesterfield for providing the prizes.
